PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method and a treating kit for a photographic element containing granular dyes which enable to be handled in a bright room. ;SOLUTION: This water-based black-and-white developing/fixing compsn. is prepared to have 10 to 12.5 pH and to contain 0.09 to 0.3 mol/L black-and- white developing agent, 0.1 to 0.4 mol/L sulfites and 0.2 to 4 mol/L fixing agent except for the sulfites.
