PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the arrangement of pinch rolls, by which the development of internal crack and the dimensional change in a cross section of a billet can be prevented with the pinch rolls, in the billet continuous casting equipment for continuously casting the billet while drawing out with the pinch rolls at ≥4 m/min drawing speed. ;SOLUTION: In the continuous casting equipment for the billet provided with the pinch rolls 3 for drawing out the cast billet in succession to a dummy bar having the same curvature radius as the drawing-out curvature radius of the cast billet from a mold and a dummy bar separating device 5 for separating the dummy bar 8 from the cast billet 2, and having ≥4 m/min casting speed (Vc), in the case of the curvature radius R≤1.394×Vc, the relation satisfies L1≥2.19×Vc-πR/2 (wherein, L1 is the distance (m) from the point of inflection to the downstream side). The arranging position L of the pinch rolls 4 for drawing out the cast billet is set by using this inequality.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
