PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily and safely stand up and sit down by him-/ her-self without the assistance of an attendant by using a belt fastener of a simple structure and a standing assister and the belt for a physically handicapped person or an aged person. ;SOLUTION: When a user attaches a belt 16 to a lower limb and fastens a connecting part 16b to a device body, first a belt fastener 25 is uplifted, then the connecting part 16b is introduced between the covering part 25b of the belt fastener 25 and an upper limb support part 9 and is hooked on a bent part 25c. Consequently, the belt fastener 25 lowers by its own weight and thus the belt fastening procedures are completed. When the upper limb support part 9 is activated into the standing or the seating direction under the described state, the belt fastener 25 is pressed downward by applying his body weight to the lower limb support part of the belt 16. Thus it is possible to positively assist in the standing and seating action of the user without fear that the connecting part 16 of the belt 16 might be disengaged with the belt fastener 25 during standing or seating effort.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
