摘要

The gravimeter unit with a superconducting floating element incorporates a magnetic screen (a) for and a cryostat (k). Is characteristic features include: a) at least one columnar permanent magnet (1) producing in a lower zone (10) a horizontal magnetic field which is translationally invariant in the z direction; b) a region (11) with a magnet (12) producing a strongly inhomogeneous field with a high gradient; c) the magnetic system (1, 12) encloses a vertical drive (2) carrying a chamber (3) with a floating element (4) constituting type II superconductor; d) means (5) are provided for determining the instantaneous vertical position of the element (4) and adjusting this position relative to the chamber (3). Also claimed is a method for operating the proposed gravimeter unit.
