FIELD: elementary-particle physics, astrophysics, acoustics. SUBSTANCE: spectra of two images of object are registered at certain time moment ω1(t0) and ω2(t0) and frequencies t0 and τ of waves emitted by object corresponding to one and same characteristic part of spectra for this time moment are measured. Later spectra of two images of object are registered after known time interval ω1(t0+τ) and frequencies ω2(t0+τ) and (ω1(t0)-ω2(t0)) of waves emitted by object corresponding to same characteristic part of spectra as in first pair are measured. Then direction of movement of object is determined by sign of difference of frequencies (ω1(t0+τ)-ω2(t0+τ)) or τ, ω1(t0), ω2(t0). Finally speed of movement of object, distance to object and frequencies of waves emitted by it are found with due account of direction of movement by certain dependence relating ω1(t0+τ), ω2(t0+τ). EFFECT: increased accuracy of determination of kinematic characteristics of movement of object and expanded application field of method to objects emitting continuum spectrum. 3 dwg
