Method for creating numerical models of surfaces using acquisition points - by finding boundary on surface of actual model and several points on boundary, using acquisition system and numerical representations of theoretical surface generates theoretical surface satisfying condition of passing through given points
The method involves identifying a boundary (12a, 13a and 14a) on the surface (11) of an actual model (10), and several points on the boundary. The values of the spatial coordinates of the points are acquired using an acquisition system. A numerical representation of the theoretical surface is generated from this data. Values representing a second several nodal points are determined belonging to the theoretical surface. The acquisition system operates to acquire the spatial values of a third several actual points, directing the acquisition system towards the estimated positions of the nodal points. A second numerical representation is generated of a theoretical surface which satisfies the condition of passing through the third set of points.
