The invention relates to a window-lift drive for motor vehicles, comprising a cable drum (3) mounted in a rotational manner inside a housing, where said cable drum is encircled by a cable connected to the window pane. A crank bolt (1) mounted rotatably in a wall of the housing is connected with and drives the cable drum (3). The housing also contains a braking device, comprising a bell-shaped brake cap (6) and a brake spring (7) positioned inside the bell-shaped brake cap (6). A coupling element, in particular a fork (12) or similar part, can be rotated by the crank bolt (1) and is positioned at a radial distance in relation to said crank bolt (1). A prestressed elastic element (11) is placed between the crank bolt (1) and the coupling element.
