PURPOSE:To perfectly discharge media within a short time without disassembling a sand mill by sending a discharge liquid into the sand mill under pressure to send the media in the mill into a receiving container from a discharge port along with the liquid and recovering the media by a screen basket. CONSTITUTION:Liquid feed pipings 4, 5 are made connectable so as to circulate a discharge liquid in a sand mill 30 and media discharge devices 1-5. After connection, the discharge liquid is sent in the sand mill 30 under pressure by a liquid feed pump 3 through liquid feed pipings 4, 7, and the media in the sand mill 30 are sent in a receiving container 1 from a media discharge port 21 along with the liquid to be recovered by a media receiving screen basket 2. The sent-in liquid passes through the screen basket 2 to be again sent in the sand mill 30 through the liquid feed pipings 4, 7. As a result, the media can be easily and perfectly discharged within a short time without disassembling the sand mill.
