PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the trouble of a boiler so as to be lower than the trouble in a conventional horizontal type boiler without developing the trouble caused by sticking of dust in a vertical type boiler even by changing the waste heat boiler in a flash smelting furnace for smelting copper from the conventional horizontal type to the vertical type and to reduce as far as possibly the stopping caused by boiler troubles at the time of continuous copper-refining by reconstructing the flash smelting furnace so as to be able to carry out the continuous copper-refining therein. ;SOLUTION: The waste heat boiler 4 is arranged at the upper part of an uptake 3 whose cross-section is partially contracted, and also, a cyclone 5 communicated with the waste heat boiler 4 is arranged. A dust adding tube 6 communicating the cyclone 5 to the uptake 3 at the upper part from the contracted cross sectional area part, is arranged to cool the waste gas. Further, a slag smelting furnace 15 for separating matte mixed in the slag from the slag while holding the slag produced in the flash smelting furnace 20 by approaching the uptake 3 to a shaft 1 to reduce the matte and the slag quantities stayed in the flash smelting furnace 20, and a copper- refining furnace 10, are arranged.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
