PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent secondary loss from occurring caused by further trouble even when a joining state is abnormal by providing a device with a joining processing state detection means detecting the joining state of a leader for developing and a photographic film. ;SOLUTION: By a joining part, the leader 5 for developing and the leading edge of the photographic film 7 taken out from a cartridge 3 are joined. The leader 5 is black and the opposite side thereof is white. Then, the joining part is provided with an electronic camera picking up the image of the leader 5. Then, it is detected whether the joining state is normal or not by using a method for detecting whether the images of plural prescribed positions are correctly white or black and detecting the shapes and the inclination of joining holes 51 and 52 of the leader 5 by using the electronic camera, a method for detecting the inclination of a straight line constituting the holes 51 and 52, and the like. When the joining state is not normal, respective supply mechanisms are stopped by the control part of the joining device, the abnormal leader 5 is ejected, and the next leader 5 is supplied, then the state of the leader 5 is detected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
