PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the burden on maintenance staff by managing the process of whole maintenance work in real time by providing a remote communication means for exchanging information for maintenance work between a central managing device for maintenance work, having the configuration of communication network and a data base for work management and a portable terminal for supporting maintenance work to be sued at a local station. ;SOLUTION: A central station 120 has a maintenance work process managing means 101, configuration data base 121 for managing the configuration of a communication network 110 and a work managing data base 122 for recording the information of maintenance work. Inside a local station 130, a portable terminal 103 carried with a maintenance staff 131 exchanges the information for supporting maintenance with the central station 120 through a radio communication means 105, a fixed terminal 102 and a remote communication means 104. The process managing means 101 receives the information from the maintenance staff 131 and manages the process of maintenance work, while referring the contents in the data bases 121 and 122.
