PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a label printer and a sales management system in which safety and sanitation of foods are regarded as important, by a method wherein salable period of time of foods after cooked is stored for every sort of foods, the sort of foods is input to retrieve the salable period of time of foods after cooked, and the salable period of time is added to the time of input at present to obtain a salable time limit to be printed on a label. ;SOLUTION: Sorts of foods are input through an input device 10, and the salable period of time Tδ of the correspondent sort of foods after cooked is retrieved from a data table in a memory 7. The present time T0 from a clock 20 is added to the salable period of time Tδ by an arithmetic device 8, so that the salable time limit Tx is obtained and output to a printer 5. A controller 21 that is controlled by the arithmetic device 8 brings a tape feeder 4 and a tape cutter 6 in operation and the salable time limit Tx is automatically printed on a tack seal tape 18 in a tape cassette 19 along the length of the tape, and the tack seal tape 18 is delivered from a tape outlet 9, cut in a specified length and attached on a package as a label.
