PRODUCTION OF HIGHER ALCOHOL, (POLY)ALKYLENE GLYCOL MONO-HIGHER ALKYL ETHER, (POLY)ALKYLENE GLYCOL DI-HIGHER ALKYL ETHER AND LONG-CHAIN OLEFIN, ISOMERIAZATION OF LONG-CHAIN OLEFIN AND CATALYST USED THEREFOR
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress side reactions and efficiently produce a higher alcohol at a high reactional rate in high selectivity by reacting a long-chain olefin with water using a specific solid catalyst. ;SOLUTION: An 8-30C long-chain olefin is reacted with water by using a solid catalyst having ≥0.06mmol amount of an acid based on 1g catalyst and 20.06mmol saturated adsorption amount of n-propanol based on 1g catalyst to thereby afford a higher alcohol. The long-chain olefin is similarly reacted with an alkylene or a polyalkylene glycol to afford a (poly)alkylene glycol mono-higher alkyl ether.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
