PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge whether or not metallic fibers are watermarked to an original by using the difference of a difference of a temperature change based on the difference of specific heat between the paper and the metal. ;SOLUTION: This device is provided with a heating part 100 which heats an original, a temperature sensor part 101 which measures the temperature of the original, after being heated with the part 100, to store the measured valve in a temperature memory 102 and further measures again the temperature of the original, after a prescribed time elapses, to store the measured value in the memory 102, a special original judging part 105 which reads the measured value measured with the temperature sensor part 101 out of the memory 102 to obtain the difference (temperature difference), to compare the obtained difference with the threshold that is previously set in a judging threshold holding memory 106 and to judge whether or not metallic fibers are watermarked into the original and a control means 107 which judges whether or not the original is a special original such as the paper money and, securities into which the metallic fibers are watermarked based on the judging result of the special original judging part 105.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
