A lubricating oil composition comprising:PP(a) a major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity; andPP (b) a minor amount of a synergistic combination of an antioxidant- dispersant additive and a dispersant additive, said combination comprising:P P(i) a polyisobutylene succinimide;P P(ii) an ethylene-propylene succinimide; andPP (iii) an akylated phenothiazine represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a linear or branched (C.sub.4 -C.sub.24) alkyl, heteronlykl or alkylary group; and R.sup.2 is H or a linear or branched (C.sub.4 -C.sub.24) alkyl group.
