Sepg. plastic mixts., esp. thermosets and/or thermoplastics from elastomers - comprises metering pelletised material into sepg. unit, passing charged material across sepg. plate where one type of plastic forms sliding stream and enters collecting vessel while other particles bounce across surface
A process for sepg. mixts. of plastics, esp. mixts. of thermoplastics and/or thermosets together with elastomers involves metering the pelletised material into a sepg. unit and prior to entering the latter charging the particles. The charged particles are passed across a separating plate (4) where one type of plastic forms a sliding stream and enters a collecting vessel (8) while the other plastic particles bounce across the surface and are caught by collector plates (5) whose outlets form a cascade into a collecting vessel (7). Process appts. comprises a hopper (1) with a metering slide (1.1) for varying output and appts. for charging particles at the hopper outlet. An insulated sepg. plate is inclined at 5-30[deg] to the vertical and has a collecting vessel at the lower end. In front of and at a distance from the sepg. plate are one or more particle collecting plates leading to a further collecting vessel. Pref. particles are charged by passing over a conveyer (2) with a vibrating trough (2.1) made of an insulating material or a material with an insulated surface. Multiple collecting plates (5) are arranged step-wise above one another, are pref. metallic and earthed via a high tension rectifier.. The sepg. plate is made of glass and the angle of inclination can be varied by an adjuster (6) on the frame (9). An auxiliary electrode on the rear face of the separating plate (4) is connected to a high tension rectifier and enhances the bouncing effect of the plastic, esp. elastomeric, particles across the plate. For faster particle discharge a discharge field, e.g. a corona discharge or ionising emitter is located at the outlets from the collecting plates. The particle collecting vessels (7,8) are earthed and at least one is connected to a screw conveyor.
