FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves including all lymphatic nodes of median and superior jugular chain into the tissular blocks to be removed by means of proposed method of relevant surgical access to the nodes and selecting the extent of surgical intervention. An incision is made that runs from back edge of one mastoid process to the back edge of another mastoid process through the thyroid cartilage level along the superior belly of musculus omohyoideus to its intersection with back boundary of the nodding muscle. Sternal portion of the nodding muscle and the superior belly of musculus omohyoideus are resected within the limits of the operation field. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in treating metastases of malignant tumors.
