Prepn. of catalyst useful in linear satd. hydrocarbon prodn. from synthesis gas - involves prepn. of first precursor contg. inert support and cobalt, deposition of second precursor contg. inert support, cobalt and ruthenium and deposition of scandium and or yttrium
Prepn. of a catalyst useful for the conversion of synthesis gas which comprises an inert support which is oxide(s) of Si, Ti, Al, Zr, Zn, Mg and/or Sn, and as oxides or elements, a major amt. of Co, a minor amt. of Ru and a minor amt. of Sc and/or Y, includes: (1) prepn. of a first catalyst precursor (A) contg. Co and at least part of the inert support by deposition of Co on the inert support, calcination, redn. and passivation; (2) prepn. of a second catalyst precursor (B) contg. Co, Ru and at least part of the inert support by the deposition of Ru on (A), calcination, redn. and passivation; and (3) prepn. of the final catalyst by deposition of Sc and/or Y on (B), calcination, redn. and passivation. The synthesis of linear satd. hydrocarbons from synthesis gas includes the reaction of synthesis gas contg. CO and H2 with the above catalyst at pressure 0.1-15 MPa, temp. 150-350[deg] C, vol. hour velocity 100-20,000 vol. synthesis gas per vol. catalyst per hour and molar ratio H2:CO being 1:2 to 5:1.
