System for rewaterproofing the external surfaces of vaulted or flat span railway viaducts without the need for removing ballast or interrupting railway traffic, comprising the operations of introducing means for irrigating a waterproofing fluid product into the ballast in order to bring the irrigation nozzles in contact with the said outer surface and thus irrigate the surface itself beneath the ballast with one or more waterproofing substances in succession in such a way as to form a waterproofing coating upon it.
