An automatic horizontal levelling system for platforms with three supporting legs that can be driven by means of hydraulic cylinders placed at the vertices of an imaginary triangle for adjustment in roll and pitch about the relevant axes, characterised by the fact that it includes as its basic component parts: -a sensor system AS which supplies data for maintaining or resetting the horizontal position of the platform; -a hydraulic system AI which operates on the three cylinders 23, 24, 25 connected to the three supporting legs of the platform; - a motor and pump assembly AMP to pressurise the hydraulic circuit of the said hydraulic system AI; - a command and control unit UCC which, based on the information supplied by the sensor system AS, controls the action of the solenoid valves 51, 52, 53 of the hydraulic system AI and activates the motor and pump assembly AMP, - as well as a power supply unit GA consisting of a rechargeable battery that is to provide power for the electrical and electronic circuits.
