The human immune interferon and its derivative have the amino acid sequence of FIG. 5 and are free of other protein. The isolate comprises a DNA sequence encoding a human immune interferon, having the amino acid sequence of FIG. 5. The recombinant cloning vector comprises the DNA sequence of FIG. 5. The replicable expression vector is capable of expressing the DNA sequence of FIG. 5 in a transformant microorganism or cell culture. the cell culture is capable of expressing an immune interferon with the amino acid sequence of FIG. 5. The pharmaceutical composition is for treating tumor or viral diseases or immunosuppressive conditions. In a method for producing a human immune interferon, recombinant host cells transformed with an expression vector comprising DNA encoding human immune interferon with the amino acid sequence of FIG. 5 or an allele or derivative thereof are cultured under conditions permitting expression of said DNA sequence to form a human immune
