PURPOSE: To measure the position of a moving body by obtaining the inclining angle of a double corner-cube to the laser beam. ;CONSTITUTION: A large and a small corner cubes 2, 3 are combined on the common central axis 6, thereby to form a double corner-cube 1. Three triangular inclined surfaces 9, (10) forming rear faces of a tetrahedron of, each of the corner cubes 2, 3 are in the same shape and of the same size, and the angle defined by a tangent 11, (12) of the adjacent triangular inclined surfaces and the triangular inclined surface 9, (10) confronting the tangent of each corner cube is 90°. The first corner cube 2 is a total reflection type, while the second corner cube 3 is not a total reflection type. The position of a moving body is determined by calculating the inclining angle 9 of the double corner-cube 1 when the incident ray (f) agrees with the reflecting ray fr1 from the first corner cube.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
