PURPOSE:To prevent pages from being fed defectively in page refeed action after the generation of defective page feed by correcting the force to press a page feed roller against passbooks. CONSTITUTION:Pressure plates 4a, 4b are maintained at a horizontal position with the protrusions 5c of page feed rollers 5a, 5b oriented upward, then parts whose pages are to be fed of a passbook 1 are opened, and the passbook is transported to a page feed position using paired transport rollers 2a, 2b and tension rollers 3a, 3b. After that, the pressure plate 4a is inclined around a pin 8 to allows the passbook 1 to the pressed against the page feed roller 5a. The tension roller 3a is pushed upward by the pressure roller 4a, then the page fed roller 5a is rotated counter-clockwise, and the protrusion 5c is allowed to come in contact with the passbook 1 frictionally. Thus a page 1a is turned up and the passbook 1 is caused to advance for page feed. If multi-page feed occurs, extra pages turned are fed reversely using the pressure plate 4b and the page feed roller 5b. In this case, the pressure plate 4b is set to a lower pressure level that is the pressure plate 4a for page feed action.
