PURPOSE: To produce an aluminum alloy having fine crystalline grains and stable artificial ageing characteristis by preparing an aluminum alloy having a composition where respective contents of Mg and Si and the mutual relationship between their contents are specified, respectively. ;CONSTITUTION: An aluminum alloy which has a composition consisting of, by weight, 0.2-1.2% Mg, 1.2-2.6% Si, and the balance Al with inevitable impurities, satisfying 0.85[Si(%)-Mg(%)/1.731]2.0, and containing, if necessary, one or ≥2 kinds among 0.03-1.20% Cu, 0.03-1.50% Zn, 0.03-0.80% Mn, 0.03-0.30% Cr, 0.03-0.30% Zr, 0.03-0.30% V, 0.005-0.30% Ti, and 0.05-0.60% Fe is prepared. By this method, the aluminum alloy having fine crystalline grains, free from the influence of natural aging due to standing at room temp. after solution heat treatment and hardening, and capable of providing required high strength stably with certainty by means of artificial ageing treatment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
