PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the measurement precision of hydrodynamic characteristics of a sample body and at the same time, make it easy to carry out the setting work for an initially supported state, e.g. the position, the posture, etc., of the sample body. ;SOLUTION: A sample body 1 is hung and supported in a wind tunnel through piano wires 2, 3, 4 and load sensors 5, 6, 7. Adjusting apparatus to adjust the effective length are installed for respective piano wires 2, 3, 4. Cameras 12, 13 so installed as to be able to take pictures of the space to be measured are kept in a state where their optical axis of lens are prevented to be mutually parallel and the respective taken pictures are reproduced by an image output apparatus 14. Based on image data signals by the cameras 12, 13, a computer apparatus 16 calculates three- dimensional coordinates of the hanging and supporting points (a), (b), and (c) of the sample body 1 and load measurement points and sends out the results and at the same time, based on their position relations and the measured outputs of the load sensors 5, 6, 7, evaluation and computation of hydrodynamic characteristics affecting the sample body 1 are carried out.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
