PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an Ni base superalloy material excellent in both the surface skin and internal properties by using slag contg. specified amounts of CaF2, CaO, Al2O3, TiO2 and MgO in electroslag remelting for an Ni base superalloy material. ;SOLUTION: The compsn. of slag used in the case of electroslag remelting for an Ni base superalloy is composed of, by weight, 20 to 35% CaF2, 30 to 50% CaO, 10 to 30% Al2O3, 0 to 15% TiO2 and 0 to 10% MgO. Using this slag, an Ni base superalloy material is remelted at a low melting rate. The Ni base superalloy as the object contains, e.g. 39 to 80% Ni and 10 to 30% Cr. The melting rate is different in accordance with the size (radius) electrode to be remelted. It is regulated to a low melting rate, e.g. of 260kg/hr as for the electrode having 100 to 250mm size, of 350kg/hr as for the electrode having 300 to 450mm size and of 650kg/hr as for the electrode having 500 to 650mm size.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
