PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent increase of back pressure of a spinneret in melt spinning or yarn breakage, etc., in producing a polyester fiber whose main recurring unit containing an organic sulfonic acid metal salt is ethylene terephthalate. ;SOLUTION: A flow of a polyester polymer whose recurring unit is ethylene terephthalate is fed from a main extruder and joined to a melted modifier component flow of an organic sulfonic acid metal salt fed through the second weighing pump from a twin screw extruder and evacuated to ≤50Torr pressure. Immediately after joining, the joined flow is passed through a first stationary type mixing and stirring element and weighed by the first each weighing pump and spun through each spinning pack equipped with a spinneret into a fiber. The resultant fiber is subjected to dry heat treatment for ≥10sec at ≥120°C and subjected to weight reduction treatment in an amount of ≥10% based on the fiber weight with an aqueous solution of alkaline compound to carry out fibrillation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
