PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clearly exhibit old austenite grain boundary of steel by adding chloric acid, sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate, ferrous chloride, calcium chloride, ethylalcohol to saturate water solution of picric acid. SOLUTION: The saturated solution of picric acid is a typical corrosion liquid for exhibiting old austenite grain boundary and is used after adding a proper amount of sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate of surfactant. By further adding calcium chloride, clear exhibition of old austenite grain boundary is realized. For the saturated solution of picric acid of 100cc, adding the components of chloric acid of 0.5 to 2.0cc and dodecylbenzenesulfonate of 0.3 to 1.0g is favorable. As ferrous chloride clearly exhibits the grain boundary of negative segregation part, that of 0.1 to 0.3g is added. It is favorable to add calcium chloride of 0.1 to 0.3g and ethylalcohol of 0.5 to 2.0cc. Deviation of the favorable range of each component makes clear exhibition of the grain boundary difficult.
