In the pulse sequence according to the invention, a layer of the test object that is perpendicular to the direction of flow is firstly selectively excited. A nuclear magnetic resonance signal is read out as echo signal (S) under the influence of a Read gradient (GR) that is perpendicular to the layer selection gradient. The signals obtained in n sequential steps are represented on a time axis. Thus, the phase code gradient, and therefore spatial resolution in one direction are dispensed with by comparison with a conventional spin-warp sequence.
