The treatment of skin in neurodermitis comprises simultaneous oral application and cutaneous application of antioxidative vitamins A, C and E or their precursors or derivs. and D-panthenol. USE/ADVANTAGE - The vitamins can be used in the treatment of neurodermitis or atomic eczema. The vitamins are free radical scavengers and act agonistically and synergistically on the radical catching activity of the glutathione peroxidase system of the human body. The oral application increases the efficiency of the cutaneous application in reducing the inflammatory free-radical producing processes and hence the symptoms, such as itching. The oral and cutaneous applications act synergistically.
