Unsatd. aromatic bisimides of formula (I) are new: A =1,2-ethendiyl or norborn-5-en-2,3-diyl; Q = -CH2- or 1,3- or 1,4-phenylenediisopropylidene; R = H or Cl; R1, R2 = 1-4C alkyl. Cpds. in which A = 1,2-ethendiyl and Q = -CH2- and the cpd. in which A = norborn-5-en-2,3-diyl, Q = -CH2-, R = H, R1 = Me and R2 = i-Pr are excluded.
