FIELD: thermal measurements; checking heat transfer parameters in various convectively cooled parts. SUBSTANCE: analyzed part is placed in molten high-conductance metal at its crystallization temperature, blown down twice with cooling medium for different time intervals exceeding time of temperature stabilization process at part outlet; each time upon blowing down part is removed from melt and thickness of hardened crust of metal is measured, this being followed by calculation of desired characteristics. EFFECT: improved accuracy of heat transfer measurement in convectively cooled parts.
