The appts., for injecting a neutral gas (N2) in a wave-soldering machine, includes: (a) a conveyor to transport the components (5) to be soldered; (b) a tank (37) contg. molten solder material (30); (c) means for producing a wave (Va) of the solder; and (d) a pipe (32) for conveying the wave to the components (5). A part of the wave is diverted into a top tank (321) provided with a deflector unit (33). The deflector unit floats on top of the solder (30') in the tank (321), and follows the level in the tank produced by the wave. The neutral gas (N2) is injected between the deflector unit (33) and the solder (30') so that it reaches a predetermined zone (Zs) of the component (5).
