This invention relates to a ripening agent to improve the value of fruit on the Brix scale, accelerate harvesting and reduce fruit fall, comprising a liquid aqueous composition containing 1.4% of P2O5, 0.8% of K2O, 12.8% of calcium oxide, 2.5% of reducing sugar, less than 1.0% of a trace element as coenzyme and 83% of other components such as distilled water in such a way that the ripening agent can be applied in early spring, at the germination stage, in the early stage of fruit formation, at the stage of maturity and after harvesting in order to increase both fruit size and weight, increasing the sugar and fruit juice content, and bringing harvesting forward.
