Guide device for bars in a bar feeder for a machine tool, characterised by the fact that it comprises a number of sets of guides for the bar aligned longitudinally and each consisting of a pair of rollers that can rotate about parallel shafts, geared together and fitted with peripheral flanges of semi-cylindrical shape with axes perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the rollers, the said flanges having different depths and being angularly distributed so that, when they are opposed, they form passageways and a guide for the bar, means being provided for the rotating the said rollers into the said opposite positions.
