PURPOSE: To obtain the device and method for synchronous communication function confirmation which easily separate a fault place in a system and has simple constitution and is inexpensive. ;CONSTITUTION: While 1st and 2nd switches 8 and 9 of a return circuit 4 are set to the sides of 2nd switches 8c and 9c, 1st and 2nd switches 10 and 11 of a switching circuit 5 are set to the sides of 2nd contacts 10c and 11c and then a CPU 7 outputs sent data once inputting a dummy transmission synchronization timing signal and a reception synchronization timing signal generated by a synchronizing signal generating circuit 6, and the sent data are returned as received data to the CPU 7 again by the return circuit 4. The CPU 7 outputs the dummy received data in synchronism with the reception synchronization timing signal inputted by a synchronizing signal generating circuit 6 to confirm the synchronous communication function.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
