PURPOSE:To produce low-alloy heat resistant steel having satisfactory fatigue characteristics at high temp. and low cycle and superior strength at high temp. CONSTITUTION:Steel consisting of 0.03-0.12% C, 0.01-0.15% Si, 0.20-1.60% Mn, 0.15-0.45% Mo, 0.005-0.05% Al, 0.001-0.01% N, 0.003-0.027% Ti and the balance essentially Fe is heated to 1,000-1,280 deg.C and finish-rolled at 850-1,050 deg.C finish rolling termination temp. and 5-75% total draft in the temp. range from the termination temp. +30 deg.C to the termination temp. The rolled steel is tempered at 600-720 deg.C after cooling from a temp. range above the Ar3 point to =300 deg.C at 1-60 deg.C/sea average cooling rate.
