PURPOSE: To obtain an inexpensive water content measuring apparatus suitable for mass production by taking out a single grain of paddy easily and accurately from sampled paddies and feeding each grain of paddy to a water content detection roll in order to detect the water content thereby drying the paddies, circulating in a paddy dryer, to have a preset finish water content. ;CONSTITUTION: A rotary disc 2 is loaded with a screw carrier 3 provided with grooved protrusions 4 receiving a single grain of paddy. The screw carrier 3 is integrally mounted, on the starting end side thereof, with a partition panel 5 in flash with the protrusion 4. The partition panel 5 is provided, on the front side thereof, with an oblique paddy retainer 6 larger than the partition plate 5 having a bent fringe 7, at the lower end thereof, touching the surface of the protrusion 4 and a paddy discharge part at the end part on the central side. Consequently, a paddy receiving part 8 is formed between the paddy retainer 6 and the rotary disc 2. Single grain of paddy is carried through the rotary motion of the screw carrier 3 while being retained by means of the paddy retainer 6 to the paddy discharge part thence introduced into a pair of water content roll 10.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
