JUDGEMENT METHOD FOR CONTOUR LINE OF ONE OBJECT PLANE OF POLYHEDRON IMAGE

PURPOSE: To easily distinguish a segment pertaining to an arbitrary object plane without measuring the three-dimensional position of an end point by reading polyhedron images into a computer after obtaining the images with and without projecting a slit beam, and adopting a difference between both images. ;CONSTITUTION: An image is taken from a TV camera 2 in such a state as a slit beam not emitted from a projector 1, and recorded as a picture element plane. Thereafter, a slit beam is projected to a a measurement object plane and an image is taken from the camera 2 for recording as a picture element plane. A segment coupled state calculation section 3 adopts a difference between images acquired with and without projecting the slit beam, thereby distinguishing the slit beam from the segment. Then, judgement is made about whether or not the picture element group of the slit beam and the picture element group of the object plane contain elements at the same position on the picture element plane. The slit beam is, then, rotated or shifted to perform a similar operation, and a process is repeated to make judgement about whether or not the common section 6 of the slit beam and the segment exists, thereby calculating the distance of a segment having a common section on the picture element plane.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
