PURPOSE:To sufficiently utilize function only by receiving a dial number even at a communication equipment equipped with various functions such as a facsimile by executing communication corresponding to code data received from an electronic telephone directory when the code data are received from a call originating side at the time of call incoming. CONSTITUTION:When a card-shaped telephone directory 10 is set to a facsimile 20, a switch 34 is turned on the facsimile equipment 20 is operated according to information received from the telephone directory 10. Since the code data received from the call originating side at the time of call incoming are compared with the code data received from the electronic telephone directory 10 and the communication is executed according to the result of the comparison, the electronic telephone directory 10 can set how to make correspondence when the code data are sent from the call originating side. Thus, the correspondence to the code data at the time of reception can be set without any input miss.
