In a method for raising textile fabrics, such as jeans fabrics, garments produced therefrom, or the like, by washing the fabric in a washing machine with water in the presence of a scouring (abrading, scrubbing) material, it is proposed to avoid the use of non-reuseable materials by using foam glass media as the scouring material.
