A projectile contains a solid body image sensor, which is installed rigidly in the nose of the projectile, for terminal phase guidance of ammunition fired from barrels. An image analysis computer is used to carry out scene analysis for the purpose of target acquisition. An image correlation computer receives the video data for pattern correlation of successive images in order to determine the pitch, yaw and roll rate of the projectile. The output data from the image analysis and image correlation computer are passed to a guidance computer in order to produce steering signals for trajectory corrections. A control device is provided on the projectile, by means of which the trajectory of the projectile can be corrected on the basis of the steering signals. IMAGE
