An apparatus for performing Trendelenburg therapy andreverse Trendelenburg therapy includes an intermediate framecarried above a base frame by an inner cross-riser pivotallyconnected to an outer cross-riser. One end of the outercross-riser is pivotally connected to the base frame, and theopposite end of the outer cross-riser is rotatably andtranslatably connected to the intermediate frame via a cam andcam follower arrangement in which the cam follower rides on awear plate. One end of the inner cross-riser is pivotallyconnected to the intermediate frame, and the opposite end of theinner cross-riser is both rotatably and translatably connected tothe base frame via a cam and cam follower arrangement in whichthe follower rolls against a lower wear plate. A pivotableTrendelenburg linkage is carried on the end of the innercross-riser connected to the intermediate frame, and a pivotablereverse Trendelenburg linkage is carried on the end of the outercross-riser rotatably and translatably connected to theintermediate frame. Dual acting hydraulic cylinders power theraising and lowering of the intermediate frame by effecting ascissor movement between the inner cross-riser and outercross-riser. Single acting hydraulic cylinders power thepivoting movement of the Trendelenburg linkage. Similarly,single acting hydraulic cylinders power the pivoting movement ofthe reverse Trendelenburg linkage.
