PURPOSE: To realize an efficient treatment of a slender steel alloy by applying a lubricant to a surface where a matte structure of a steel alloy is formed, and successively giving a cold working. ;CONSTITUTION: A steel alloy wire 116 is moved to a surface treating line 110 from a coil 114. A matte structure having a lot of shallow dents scattered at random are formed on almost whole are of the surface of the steel alloy wire 116 by a surface structure forming equipment 124. A lubricant is applied to the surface of the matte surface of the steel alloy in a way that it comes into contact with the matte surface of the steel alloy by use of a lubricant applicator 132. The steel alloy is cold-worked with cold-working tools in a wire drawing line 140. Thus the cold working is successfully processed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
