PURPOSE: To produce a sufficient nipping and pressing force by driving conveying belts for nipping and pressing a stem and leaf part with opposite parts thereof and conveying the stem and leaf part with a tensile force over the full length of the opposite parts. ;CONSTITUTION: The characteristic of this structure for driving a device for raking in a stem and leaf part and a conveyor for the stem and leaf part in a stem and leaf treater comprises transmitting a driving force from transmission shafts 46 installed in the middles of conveying belts 44 to driving shafts 52 at the tips and driving the conveying belts 44, and further driving belts 38 with protrusions by driven shafts 54 at the lower ends of the conveying belts 44 as driving shafts, in the stem and leaf treater successively equipped with a device 16 for raking in the stem and leaf part composed of pair of the right and left belts 38 with the protrusions both rotating in a backwardly tilted plane and a conveyor 20 for the stem and leaf part composed of a pair of the right and left conveying belts 44 both rotating in a backwardly tilted plane from the front.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
