PURPOSE: To provide a magnetic head which has high high-frequency magnetic permeability in all directions with high reproducibility even when the head has a microcrystalline or amorphous phase and is provided with such a soft magnetic thin film that the surface of the film is apt to become uniaxial anisotropic, the soft magnetic thin film, and methods for introducing vertical magnetic anisotropy to the soft magnetic thin film and for forming magnetic stripe domain. ;CONSTITUTION: A magnetic head 10 having such a structure that a soft magnetic thin film 20' composed mainly of microcrystals having a mean grain size of 40nm is put between substrates. The thin film 20' has a magnetic stripe domain structure formed of magnetic stripe domains which are inclined in the direction perpendicular to the surface of the thin film and make spontaneous magnetization.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
