PURPOSE: To enhance the sensitivity and to maintain the resistance against contamination of a separation column by using as an eluate a mixture solution of pyromellitic acid, 2-amino-2-hydroxymethyl-1,3-propanediol. ;CONSTITUTION: An ion chromatography device is always activated and when it is not raining, an eluate is inputted to a detection section 10 from an eluate tank 31. As the eluate, a mixture solution of pyromellitic acid and Tris is used. When it is raining, a rain water is supplied to an injector 11 of the detection section from a pump 21 to be supplied to a separation column 13 via a filter 12. Each anion in the rain water is transported to an electric conductivity detection device 14 from the column 13 by being separated from the eluate so that the conductivity thereof is measured.
