PURPOSE: To improve the plate thickness deviation at the front and rear ends of a steel plate and at both ends of the steel plate width by excessive cooling of the whole peripheral end when the thick plate is rolled, the deviation of material quality and further, the longitudinal curvature of the steel plate (residual stress in the width direction). ;CONSTITUTION: In a hot control rolling of the steel plate containing a transfer pass to roll the steel plate in the longitudinal direction after the rolled material is tenter-rolled and before control rolling is started, rolling is performed by the tenter-rolling pass as the plate thicknesses at both ends of the steel plate width is left more thickly than those in the central part of the steel plate. Further, the plate thicknesses at the front and rear ends of the steel plate are rolled as they are left more thickly than those in the central part by the pass directly before the control rolling is started in the rolling in the longitudinal direction after the tenter-rolling is completed to reduce the temperature deviation generated at the whole peripheral ends of the steel plate, the plate thickness deviation, the material quality deviation and the longitudinal curvature of the steel plate (residual stress in the width direction).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
