PURPOSE: To provide the subject method which can give a coating film having a long life of corrosion prevention and being resistant to damages by using a specified coating material comprising a polyurethane resin as an undercoating material for an elastic polyurethane coating material. ;CONSTITUTION: The substrate is subjected to blasting, and an undercoating material comprising a polyurethane containing a zinc powder is applied to the blasted surface. A topcoating material comprising an elastic polyurethane resin is applied to the undercoating film. Examples of the polyurethane resin coating material used as the undercoating material include a one-pack type such as an oil-modified polyurethane resin coating material and a two-pack type such as a polyurethane resin coating material cured with a catalyst. The content of the zinc powder is desirably 40-80wt.%. The zinc powder is the one prepared by, for example, powdering metallic zinc. The thickness of the undercoating film is about 10-13μm, and the thickness of the topcoating film is about 2000-3000μm.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
