PURPOSE:To provide Welsh onions grown in pots which can be harvested throughout the all seasons. CONSTITUTION:Welsh onions are dense-planted in culture soil in the pot. The onions are preferably 'KYUUJOU' onion, a kind of thin bulb onion grown in Japan. The planting density is about 1 onion plant per 2cm2 of the culture soil. The growing conditions such as temperature, humidity, electric lamp illumination/light screening, culture soil, fertilization, seed sewing and water supply are controlled by an environment-controlling system. The pot-grown onions which are dense-planted in the culture soil in pots according to the above-described process and the pots therefor. The pots are made of plastics, metal or pottery. In a preferable embodiment, more than 60 onion plants are dense-planted in a pot of 10cm diameter, the grown onions and the pot therefor.
